Oral Prep Course
The RBMT oral prep course is designed to cover the full syllabus for the MCA OOW <3,000 GT Yacht oral exam as set out in MSN 1858.
The course is run with a maximum of 4 students from a nice 4-bedroom holiday let here in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. The course is normally spread over 7 days with 5 and a half days of tuition and 1 and a half days self-study, which works very well.
Students will get 3 individual mock exams to properly evaluate their knowledge level and identify areas that need additional revision/knowledge.

OOW Training Cards
Our training cards have been developed to help candidates establish a solid knowledge foundation for the OOW oral exam. Each double-sided card includes both question and answer.
There are 150 cards containing over 420 questions and answers based on the MCA MSN 1858 OOW Yacht <3,000 GT syllabus.
The colour-coded cards have been developed to be used by yourself, with a study partner or a study group.
One-to-one Skype Tuition for OOW Oral Exam and other topics.
One-to-One Tuition
Our one-to-one Skype sessions are entirely tailored to the requirements of the student. Whether it’s your first step towards preparing for the Oral exam or doing final mock exams the day before the real thing.
Tuition on any other topics is also available:
• Tuition before re-sitting a Nav and Radar or
• Tuition before a GSK exam.

About Us
Rob Burton Maritime Training was setup by Rob Burton after teaching the OOW modules for over 5 years as a freelance lecturer. RBMT aims to give personal tuition that the larger schools don’t offer.
Rob has over 18 years experience in the maritime industry. Initially working as a dinghy sailing instructor before converting to become a RYA Yacht Master instructor at the age of 21.
