I bought a set of the OOW flash cards and they travelled everywhere with me over the last six weeks—they became a bit of a family game in restaurants! Let’s ask Dad questions again.

“My greatest challenge facing the OOW oral exam was trying to understand the level of knowledge required in order to pass. Although the syllabus explains which topics must be studied, it does not explain how you should manage your study time nor does it break the subjects down. This is where Rob’s immersive prep week comes in.

For anyone coming up to their exam, I highly recommend Rob’s immersive study week. He has it presented in such a way that enables you to absorb each section of the syllabus to the level that is required for the exam and then a little more.

“I only heard about RBMT through a recommendation from a pal that passed after taking this intensive pre oral exam course. From what I can gather, it’s the only pre exam course offering a lovely, modern accommodating location along with a small study group (4people) that live, eat, study and test each other for a full week.

For me it was a quality experience, you meet people that are in exactly ‘the same boat’ in terms of position,study level and experience.

Your all there for the same thing! To get the knowledge and Pass the oral exam.

I can’t recommend Robs prep week enough. The house is huge and comfy and gives you the opportunity to study and immerse yourself in OOW prep along with 3 others in the same boat! It has all the publications and equiptment you’ll need and Robs wealth of knowledge really helped me get my OOW first time. Get a pack of the cards as well to get yourself up to the level before hand!

“One of my officers onboard, who had made good use of his cards, recommended Rob.

I purchased these cards and they were my primary study medium for my base knowledge of the syllabus - they were excellent to use.

I did about six sessions with Rob online via Skype and these sessions were well-planned. Rob used previous sessions to hone in on my weaker areas.

Other than a colregs book, I pretty much solely used Rob and his prep cards and walked away will an oral pass!

I am not the smartest guy and working on a 29m yacht, I didn't have access to all the publication and most of the GMDSS equipment.
